 +====== Main Menu ======
 +In the main menu you find actions related to the current project (mixer, share, ...) and actions related to the app (preferences, chromatic tuner, ...).\\
 +\\
 +Some items of the main menu are located in the action bar, the rest of the menu opens when you touch the three vertical dots (the so-called overflow menu icon in the top right corner).\\
 +If your device has a dedicated menu key, the menu opens by pressing that key and the three dots are not shown.\\
 +\\
 +//Note: Each track has a [[manual:context_menu|context menu]]. It lets you perform actions related to the track (editing functions, undo/redo, ...). Tap on a track to open the context menu.//
 +
 +===== Project =====
 +Perform actions related to the project.
 +^ Current project |The topmost entry shows the name of the currently loaded project and it's sampling rate. |
 +^ New...          |Create a new project. In the subsequent dialog you will be asked for the project's name. The sampling rate is chosen automatically and cannot be changed. |
 +^ Open...         |Open an existing project. The subsequent dialog presents a list of your projects. Tap on the one you want to open. |
 +^ Save as...      |Save a copy of the current project under a new name and switch to that project. In the subsequent dialog you will be asked for the new project's name. |
 +^ Rename...       |Rename the current project. In the subsequent dialog you will be asked for the new project name. |
 +^ Delete...       |Delete a project. The subsequent dialog presents a list of your projects. Tap on the one you want to delete. |
 +
 +===== Mixer =====
 +The mixer lets you
 +  * adjust the level of each track
 +  * position the audio into the stereophonic panorama
 +  * mute/unmute each track
 +  * set the master volume
 +  * apply your changes in real-time
 +\\
 +In the main area of the mixer view you'll find the control units for the eight tracks. Scroll the view vertically to find all tracks. Each control unit provides two sliders: the upper one is the pan-pot (panoramic potentiometer) and the lower one is the gain controller.\\
 +\\
 +The **pan-pot** lets you position the particular track into the stereophonic panorama. The setting can be any between 100% left and 100% right in steps of 10%.\\
 +\\
 +The **gain controller** lets you adjust the level of a track in the range of -20 dB to +20 dB. The color of the level display indicates whether the resulting signal will be clipped or not. If the level value is displayed green no clipping will occur. If it's orange the signal also will not be clipped but you are in the 2 dB area below clipping. A red value still is okay but you are in the 1 dB area below clipping. If the red value is striked out the signal definitely is clipped.\\
 +\\
 +The two colored lines below the main area are the indicators of the **level meter**. The upper line stands for the left audio channel, the lower line stands for the right audio channel. The level meter displays the level of the audio signal after mixing.\\
 +\\
 +Below the level meter you find the **master volume** controller. It lets you adjust the level of the mixed audio signal in the range of -20 dB to +20 dB.\\
 +\\
 +At the bottom of the screen you'll find the audio play controller. You can start and stop it as usual and you can drag the slider at any time to get to the desired position. Changes of panorama and gain are applied in real-time.\\
 +\\
 +Once you are fine with the result touch the "OK" button to save your settings. Otherwise touch "Cancel" in order to discard your changes.\\
 +\\
 +//Note: The stereo effect is only audible if the option "Stereo replay in mixer" is enabled in the [[manual:main_menu#preferences|Preferences]] menu.//
 +
 +===== Marker =====
 +Mark a sequence of your song to be played in an endless loop or to be exported.\\
 +\\
 +The marker menu shows these items.
 +^ On/Off |Switches the markers on/off |
 +^ Set Left Marker |Sets the left marker to the current play position |
 +^ Set Right Marker |Sets the right marker to the current play position |
 +In order to move a marker directly, touch the handle in the middle of the marker and drag it to the wanted position.\\
 +\\
 +The flags on the top of the markers show the current marker position. For instance, "5.3" means that the marker is positioned in bar #5 at beat #3. The bar and beat count is based on the metronome's setting, even though you might not have generated a metronome track.\\
 +\\
 +Best practice is:\\
 +  - As the markers snap to the settings of the metronome you first should generate a metronome track.
 +  - Record your accompaniment to the beat of the metronome. Any number of recorded tracks is okay.
 +  - Turn the markers on and adjust them according to your needs.
 +  - Touch the "Play"-button and the endless loop starts playing.
 +//Note: Recording is disabled as long as the markers are active.//
 +
 +===== Export =====
 +Export your song to a single WAV or MP3 file.\\
 +\\
 +All tracks, except the muted ones, are mixed and exported to a WAV or MP3 file in Aubade's base directory on your SD card (e.g. /mnt/sdcard/Aubade). The name of the exported file is identical to the name of the current project.\\
 +Before exporting you will be asked for your preferences (mono/stereo, WAV/MP3, export all/marked area).\\
 +\\
 +**If the file already exists it will be overwritten.**\\
 +
 +===== Share =====
 +Share your song via SoundCloud, Dropbox, E-mail or any other services.\\
 +\\
 +When you touch "Share" a file browser opens that shows all your exported songs. Touch the file you want to share and a pop-up menu opens that lets you choose an app for sharing.\\
 +To share via SoundCloud or Dropbox the respective app has to be installed on your device.\\
 +\\
 +//Note: Remember to export your song before it can be shared.//
 +===== Tuner =====
 +Aubade provides an integrated chromatic tuner. It's easy to operate - just open it and play your note, no more settings are required.\\
 +\\
 +If you match a tone the background color turns to green and the note is displayed.\\
 +If you don't match a tone the background color is orange and an arrow in the top left corner indicates whether your tone is too high or too low.\\
 +The background color is gray if the app does not detect a tone.\\
 +\\
 +In case the display should not be stable, on a guitar just try the first harmonic tone one octave up. As you most probably know, the first harmonic can be played by lightly placing a finger in the center of the string (12th fret).
 +===== Adjustment =====
 +Perform the automatic or manual adjustment of the play/rec latency time. The adjustment ensures that the recorded track is aligned with the played tracks.\\
 +\\
 +The adjustment of the play/rec latency time is a very simple process and can be done within a few seconds. Aubade tells you when it needs an automatic adjustment and it guides you through the process. It is strongly recommended to perform the adjustment when you are asked for doing so.
 +===== Preferences =====
 +Select your preferred settings. Usually the default settings are okay and don't need to be changed.
 +==== Stereo replay in main view ====
 +By default the audio replay in the main view is set to stereo. Deselect this option if you experience any issues with audio performance.\\
 +However, in order to hear the effect of the panorama settings you must set the audio replay to stereo. Also the ping-pong effect demands a stereo replay.
 +==== Level meter ====
 +The level meter is shown by default. Deselect this option if you experience any issues with audio performance.
 +==== Draw waveform while recording ====
 +By default the recorded waveform is drawn instantly. Deselect this option if you experience any issues with audio performance.
 +==== Stereo replay in mixer ====
 +By default audio replay in the mixer is set to stereo.  Deselect this option if you experience any issues with audio performance.
 +==== Keep Aubade active while in background ====
 +When selected Aubade keeps playing and recording even when it went into the background. This feature lets you view lyrics and chords in another app.
 +==== Audio source ====
 +Select the input source for recording.\\
 +\\
 +The following options are available.
 +^ Front microphone |The main microphone on the front of the device. This option is most likely the best choice. |
 +^ Front microphone with AGC |The main microphone on the front of the device with automatic gain control (AGC). On some devices the AGC might lead to an overmodulated, distorted signal. |
 +^ Auto-select |Let the device chose the audio source. This is a legacy option that most likely is not the best choice. |
 +^ Camcorder microphone |The optional microphone on the back of the device. |
 +//Note: Not all devices support all audio sources. In this case the unsupported source is automatically mapped to a supported source.//
 +==== Show deselected tips again ====
 +All tips have a don't-show-again checkbox. With this option you force Aubade to forget all previous don't-show-again demands.
 +==== Language ====
 +Lets you choose the language of the texts of Aubade. Currently available are English and German.
 +^ Automatic (Automatisch) |Use the system language of your device |
 +^ English (Englisch) |Force to English |
 +^ German (Deutsch) |Force to German |
 +
 +===== Text field show/hide =====
 +Option to show and hide the [[manual:main_view#text_field|text field]]. Information about the text field is available [[manual:main_view#text_field|here]].
 +
 +===== Info =====
 +Here you'll find some information about Aubade, including version number, credits and EULA.
